TODAY WE VOTE

“All voting is a sort of gaming, like checkers or backgammon, with a sort of moral tinge to it, a playing with right or wrong.”

— Henry David Thoreau

The United States presidential election has arrived. Never has the moral tinge been so bright, so clear. The Republican candidate is a repulsive and dangerous person. I have made it a point to never use his name when I write about him as I do not wish, in any way, to aggrandize his bloated ego. I considered changing this policy but thought better of it; after all you already know his name and I just don’t like him. What he represents is so antithetical to common decency, compassion, and statesmanship I have decided not to break my silence concerning his name. I have other names for him but for the sake of decorum I shall not mention those here.

Why is this individual not suitable to be president of the United States of America? (I have to say, before I go any further, that the rhetorical nature of this question may deem it unnecessary, but I shall proceed anyway.)

1) He has previously held the position and did a terrible job.

2) He has, as of Jan. 2024, been charged with 88 criminal offenses in four criminal cases.

3) He praised Hitler [this according to his former Chief of Staff Gen. John Kelly]

4) He praised Russian leader Vladimer Putin as being “pretty smart” for invading Ukraine.

5) He is a serial liar [Washington Post’s fact-checkers documented 30,573 false or

misleading claims during his presidency].

6) 27 psychiatrists and mental health experts have written a book “the Dangerous Case of

D***** T****” which makes the case that he is not mentally competent to be president.

I could go on but I believe I have made my point.

Peace,

Al Obert
